Non chemical hair regimen

We all know how difficult it is for nappy, kinky, coily hair to retain moisture.  I have tried many products to keep my hair moist and soft and even contemplated going old school with those hair pomades that our mothers used on us as kids.  You know, Softee, Blue Magic, Ultra Sheen, Sulfur 8 (to get that hair to grow), and Dixie Peach (if you’re really old school!) So I bought my Softee pomade, $1.00 for 3.5 oz and proceeded to wet my hair and apply it, and it was so soft!  So I twisted it and let it dry.  The next day, my hair felt hard and crunchy and greasy!  All the moisture just evaporated and I was left with the stiff pomade!

Well I’m a fighter and I can’t let my hair beat me down like that.  Before this experiment, my sister told me about Cantu products and I loved how moist Cantu left my hair.  The smell started bothering me after a while, though.  Also, over the past 2 months I started noticing that my hair felt drier than before.  I don’t know if it was the Cantu or just this dry Oakland California weather, but I have temporarily stopped using the Cantu.

So, where does this lead me?  To essential oils and seed and fruit oils!  I will be experimenting with these natural products and will report my findings to you!  My hair will have to respond positively. Let’s hope!

Why don't you just add the essential oils to the cantu to change the smell? You might like the result
