Bible Promises Prayers for Healing!

Blessings, Everyone!  Let me tell you a tiny story.  Most of you know that I worked in a bookstore for 10 years, up until 2003.  And a library for 15 years before that.  So, one day, while I was at work at the counter of my bookstore, ringing up customers’ purchases, a middle aged white man, whom I don’t remember ever seeing in the store before or since, came up to the counter and gave me a little book.  I can’t remember if he purchased it first or if he had already purchased it.  He may have  even purchased it in another store, but he gave it to me, blessed me, and left the store.  I was pleasantly surprised and thankful when I read the title of the book— The Bible Promise Book: one thousand promises from God’s Word  NIV.  It’s a cute little blue paperback pocket book.  I was later impressed to sign the date that the kind angel of a man gave it to me on the first page of the book.  The date was November 30, 2005.  I also wrote “a gift from a Stacey’s Bookstore customer”

Well the book went on my bookshelf soon after that.  I occassionally would pick it up and look through it and set it back down.  It has a list of popular subject matter that one would pray about.  For example: Anger, Belief, Charity, Children,  on down the line through to Worship.  For each subject, about 7 to 15 or so warfare scriptures that the person can pray.

Fast forward to April 2010.  I’ve been struggling with something that I needed to pray diligently about.  I have a couple of prayer books and I have been using them.  But one day I am reminded of my little  Bible Promise Book!  I find it on my shelf and pull it down, wondering if there is a section covering healing.  I didn’t find healing listed.  Then I was told to look up sickness and there it was!  So I have been praying these few warfare prayers listed in my little blue Bible Promise Book and have gotten wonderful results!!  I see a breakthrough in the issue I have been having!  So I was told to share these few scriptures with all of you!  I know you’ll be blessed!

Is any one of you sick?  He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.  And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.  If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.  Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of  a righteous man is powerful and effective.   *James 5:14-16

When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”  “Yes, Lord,” they replied.  Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith will it be done to you”; and their sight was restored.  Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one knows about this”  *Matthew 9:28-30

Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.*Jeremiah 17:14   (my favorite)

“But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins…”Then he said to the paralytic, “Get up, take your mat and go home,” And the man got up and went home  *Matthew 9:6-7

Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you.  *Exodus 23:25

Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues,  preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.  News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them.  *Matthew 4:23-24

“But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,” declares the LORD.  *Jeremiah 30:17

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.  *1 Peter 2:24

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.         *Isaiah 53:5

    >Hi Thandi! No, no offense taken. I knew I needed to change it! I just loved it so much–too bad the template wasn't exactly how it was presented–which showed only an edge of the earth with light. When I actually applied it, half the earth was lit and it took up half the blog page!! Oh Well!Praise the Lord, I pray that those prayers will bless you and your beautiful little baby girl!!

    >Loved this post…. I know it will bless your readers. I have so many questions that I would love to ask God as it pertains to the scripture…His Word… meanings…. relevance… what to do when healing doesn't come…. things don't change… but what this post did was remind me that it's still God's Word and just obey… pray… believe… and not loose faith… thank you.
